Fish 'N' Tips

Well I couldn't resist, I had a bit of a scan through in the newsagents this morning, as I thought there is a bit of rehashing going on and if it's aimed at 16 to 40 year olds I'm not sure why they've got contributors in their 60's writing for them...
One of the regular features is described as being a bit like Top Gears 'Star in a reasonably priced car' feature, for me the whole magazine felt as though they can't decide if they want to be top gear or the daily mail motoring pages.......Oh well, I'm not in the target demographic so it's not my problem...

Oh dear

Dreadfull. I'm within the later part of said demographic at 31.

Glanced upon the fishing section of a rarely visited local newsagent this morning and saw what looked like the angling equivelent of Nuts/Zoo in amongst the rapidly dwindling tittles. Bought it out of curiosity - it can't be that bad all the way through surely? It was.

There may well be something in the written content but i haven't felt comfortable enough to look at a page long enough to read any of it yet. It's hiding under the coffee table, god knows what the missus ( also an angler ) will make of it when she see's it. She call's CAT magazine and the Tackle Box catalogue porn - i can see her point regarding the TB catalogue. :D

Not likely to see it over here I guess but sounds like just the thing for passing the hours away in your bivvie, naughty boy.

Had a similar idea some years ago - for a title targeted at the Neanderthal demographic. Working title (courtesy of young Paul, clearly "on something" at the time, again), Massive Mammoths.

Then I realised that Neanderthals took their leave from us 20-plus thousand years ago. Then again, I thought, have they...?

As ever,

I was sent a free copy of the mag this week, what a load of tripe.

Most interesting thing is how fat that Mark Barrett bloke is. He must have been Two Tones dad.

Ah, but what about those who are always so far ahead of the game that anything new seems old hat...?

The shorts courtesy of the film's producer who didn't like me in beaten-up sawn-off Levis (would lower the tone of a big budget British and Boston, America co-production), so she sent out to a Srinagar (Kashmir) tailor: "One pair of gentleman's khaki shorts, size Small" to be delivered to the houseboats on which we were staying.

Yes, too small.

Young Paul is far too modest! Our Lady Guides all have a copy of the film (available from Paul for a score and despatched in plain brown envelope), often playing it late into the night in their dorm - I should know, as I am often there.

Just like Paul's youthful looks, Fish and Tits is no more!
