Firstly, i'd like to say hello to everyone on here. I've been quietly reading for a couple of months now, picking up tips and taking in what i can.
Thought it's about time i made my first post so here goes..
On a recent trip to my local camping supplies shop to stock up with a few things for the coming season i came accross a fairly new product from a company called Trekmates.
After a lengthy chat with one of the staff, (who happened to be a carp angler) I left with a new way of cooking on the bank.
The product is essentially a clip-lock type tupperware, whigh accepts high powered heat packs similar to hand warmers but much more powerful. The heat pack goes in the bottom of the tub, and the chemical reaction is started by pouring a small measured ammount of water onto the pack (this can even be river water as it is not involved in the cooking just creating the chemical reaction). On top of this fits a stainless steel bowl containing your food, and finally the lid locks on with four clips. The whole thing sits in a neoprene base.
I decided to put it through it's paces earlier, and within 10 minutes my portion of meatballs and sauce was genuinely hot throughout, and it was the easiest meal i've made. No Gas, no extra pans etc and no chance of burning food or myself.
It really appealed to me due to the fact you can already store your food in it, so it's basically a lunch box but it gives you a hot meal.
I think it's a great product for nights on the river and i'll certainly be eating more hot food this season as it really is compact, light and simple to use.
All i need now is the missus to cook extra portions of everything and stockpile them in freezer bags.
Thought it might be of interest to some of you.
Hope the link works..?

P.S.
Apologies if some think this is in the wrong section, but i've not had or used it long enough to give a genuine review, may do so in a few months.
Tight-lines for the coming season!
