Excellent service from Mr Tunley

Just thought I’d share my experience of the above after breaking my 2 month old 11ft Torrix the other night , just threading line through the rings like I’ve done for the last 50 odd years , reaching to pull a bit more line of the spool and that sickening crack was heard of carbon shattering near the tip , it even broke in two different places .
A quick phone call to Mark Tunley and he immediately reassured me saying Harrison will cover it under warranty and just send the tip back complete with rings and he’ll rebuild another one , all for the princely sum £25. massive relief after spending close to £400 for it just weeks ago .
And to top it off I had a very productive night with the other rod I had me .
So fantastic after sales service in my book , which is rare these days .

Your final sentence says it all Kevin. Sadly excellent customer service seems to be a rarity these days.

Many many years ago, I owned a Barbour Gamefair green waxed jacket. It was quite a few years old when I ripped it climbing over a barbed wire fence getting to a swim. I sent it back to Barbour and asked for a quote for repair. About a week later, a parcel arrived for me with my coat invisibly mended and re-waxed FREE OF CHARGE!
I thought such service was a thing of the past but obviously not!
 
I bought two Eufy security cameras from Amazon last year , 12 month warranty, one of the cameras failed to charge a week after the warranty expired, Eufy wouldn’t replace but give me 25% discount on a new camera?!
Do they think treating customers like this they’ll get repeat business? and build a loyal fan base ?
I really don’t get business's that treat customers like this , short sighted…
 
@Kevin Brown what torix did you get ? And how do you find it ?
It’s a 11ft 2lb , I have two actually and love them ! Was catching Dace and small Grayling the other night on a maggot feeder then swapped to boilie and caught 3 barbel to double figure, they really can do it all !

Great rods. He built me 1.75 versions afew years back. They’ve banked some big fish over the years including 5 15’s
Hopefully this season they’ll do a 16

Yeah after using mine this season I wouldn’t want to be without them , not sure they’ll ever do battle with a 15 but we live in hope 🤣
 
I went to Mark Tunley this year and was well impressed with his rods. He’s a great guy to talk to. Any rods I want in the future will be built by him. The Dark Carbon specialist 1.75 is a stunning rod. So much power and beautifully built. The 13.6 Specialist Float Rod is a well designed perfect barbel float rod - so light and a pleasure to use. Probably going to get a pair of Dark Carbon 2.5s for the autumn / winter fishing. Can’t recommend him enough
