Hi Gents what type and where to buy a dogspike for river fishing

Suppose it could be used for attaching a rope and helping one down a steepish river bank .

Thanks Gents the reason I ask I have seen them on ebay but being 14 st wondered if they could do the job I would rather slither down the bank than land in midstream if it pulls out

Used one for a long time.l regard it as vital to the kit.never had a worry if put in proper

Bought mine from a pet shop.The rope from Clas Ohlson, good quality and very reasonable. Put overhand knots in the rope roughly a metre apart to aid grip when it's wet and muddy. One will hold 14st no problem, just don't try and carry too much gear down the bank in one go.

Got mine from Wilkinsons, I think it cost about 3 quid and I'm 15 stone Frank and feels safe enough to me BUT as Albert say's, make sure it's screwed into the deck proper. You might need a small T Bar to help with the screwing.
