dissolving paste

Anyone know to a good recipe for a paste that will wrap thinly round a pellet and dissolve within 15 minutes in cold water. My paste will stay there all day in cold water:(. The dissolving paste is the only free bait I want to give them, if they want any more they've got to have the one with the hook.

Graham I am assuming that you make your own paste ? and you use egg to bind it together ?

Have you tried useing water in stead of egg ? so it breaks down quicker in the water ? Just a thought .

Hi men,

De-skin 3 sausages , cheaper the better . Add base mix / pellet powder / spices until you get the concistancy you want , works for me.

try a mixture of egg and water,

more egg, longer to break down. more water to speed it up

I'm okay with the base mixes but my pellet pastes are a disaster. Been told I need to combine the two.

crumble some black pudding into a bowl, mix in a dollop of spread, utterly buterly or something like that until it is quite smooth. If you want a fast break up add bread crumbs or semolina until the paste is the required consistency. For a slower break down add flour, as the flour will make it more elastic. This works well when wrapped round a pellet.
Use black pudding that has pig blood and pork fat as the main ingredients.
