The first generation powermesh Avon and certainly the best one they produced by far in my opinion.
In mint condition with original bag.
£85.
Would ideally prefer you collected. Thanks.

Just to add I am moving on a few rods that simply haven’t seen the banks in years.
I’ve got a number of the original mark 1 leeda blue diamonds I’ll start with. Not Micky mouse leeda but the original 90’s rods with the blue/green blanks X rap carbon and Seymour guides.
To save a lot of time they all have the original bags all in original lengths with all original eyes, tips, sections etc and fabulous condition.
Consisting of
13’ stick with spliced tip £55
13’ waggler £55
12’ specimen float £65
11’6 twin tip med feeder £55
12-13 twin but twin tip method. £65

Hi Steven
The specimen float doesn’t have a rating regarding TC or recommended line strengths. However to give you an idea it’s a full through action rod with a bit more power than the waggler or stick versions. Line strength I’d say 4-6lb being in it’s suitable range. It’s right at home trotting a lump for a chub or a big perch. I have landed carp on it on commercial lakes and it does the business, however if I was targeting commercial carp I’d probably step up to something I bit beefier. It’s a good fun rod when you hook something real decent on it

Hope that helps

I’ll tell you another thing about the specimen float steve. It’s by a clear mile the slimmest blank I own. Measuring at less than 11mm diameter in the thickest part of the butt section. Leeda had things so right with the original blue diamonds. I bought these 5 over a number of years in my 1990’s fishing days as they were unbeaten imo on quality. I’m a firm believer that to get quality carbon blanks like these nowadays you need to go custom. Leeda completely lost their way with the mk2 which just were never the same.
I still feel the same way about the powermesh avon too. The mark 1 was by far the nicest and they were never the same since.
It’s taken some guts to offer this lot for sale but after years of storage and just using my customs for barbel and chub it’s criminal to see these beautiful rods never get a look in anymore. Sure some of them carry the odd cosmetic mark here and there but as far as examples go these are pretty special rare rods.
