Decent roving umbrella recommendations please?

Seems the Korum river Yeah I've started to look at Quest tenacious 55", & the Trakjer 60", & Drennan 50" specialist umbrella (more shelter type) but expensive at £109 from what my brief preliminary searches have thrown up.

I'll do some more research later tonight.

It seems the Korum super lite has discontinued, superceeded by the Korum progress version. Not sure what the differences are?

It's like bloody I-phones & Samsung phones, bring a new version out every two weeks! 🤣🤣
I like the look of the Quest Tenacious 55". Has anyone got one or seen one in the wild?

Will have a look at the suggestions & appreciate the comments offered!

I've spotted the Drennan Specialist umbrella although more like a shelter. & a bit expensive at the price advertised....but a shop owner said to me it also folds/rolls up so well that it's around 10cm dia when packed down.

But then I thought they all look great out of the factory packaging, & never that thin once opened up🤣🤣

I’ve got the Drennan specialist (the one with stormsides?). Great quality brolly but not particularly light and it only just squeezes in my 2 rod quiver. The Drennan 44” normal brolly would be better for roving. Again, great quality but a bit smaller/lighter

This is my thoughts if I'm being honest.... I've got a old sundridge igloo suit (heavy though) and I've been toying about this sort of umbrella for a while now. And I honestly think that would be a better option on my roves 👍
I’ve got the Fortis version which i used to strap to a storm pole with velcro straps when i was walking miles on the canals after Perch. Surprised nobody does one with a long spike on as they are just enough to keep you and a bit of gear dry

I get that👍😆

I've been saying for years that the specialist angling side to our sport needs to be thought about a bit more. Clothing & gear have taken a hit as the certain branches of the sport are more popular than others etc

Worth bringing this back up

Years ago I wanted a ‘ roving ‘ brolly. Nothing too big or heavy . A bit of thought and I came up with this . I taped a bit of poly pipe to a reversed cut off extending bankstick, the brolly fits perfectly . This is the second reincarnation .Brolly is a 4 ft diameter one but I suppose it could be a larger golf type if it was needed. Used extensively on the Teme, Wye, Wharfe , and Ribble .

Weighs next to nothing .
If a brolly such as this was good enough for Digby Tatham- Warter then the placid banks of a river should be childs play for one .

+1 for the Korum Supalite River Brolly - if its not too far a yomp and I'm intending to fish static its the best out there to date (albeit the threads are a bit soft) Fox Specialist now reserved for vehicle access swims and day session carping . .

For long yomps and roving totally agree, a golf style brolly is the most sensible - I've been using a camo Decathlon jobbie (used yesterday on the Wye in wet late afternoon conditions) and with a decent set of waterproofs its more than adequate in keeping the worst off - do also carry a separate oversized rucksack cover for gear etc.

Messed around with one of these a couple of seasons ago but unlike Davids it was unsatisfactory! Had an idea I might clamp it to the leg or side of my chair which would be ideal but gave up as it was floppier than my flip flops . . . I'm sure Rich or someone with engineering skills could adapt this item / butcher it with a decent Preston clamp etc!
