Day ticket on the Ouse and wensum

Could anyone give me any info on some good day ticket waters on the Ouse and wensum ??? Planning on a trip in the next few weeks ??

Hi David,

There are no good day ticket stretches on the Wensum, the only one with a history of Barbel is the Bridge Inn stretch at Lenwade, but its a short stretch with only really one good swim when the water's low, can fish well in a flood. Fish have been caught in the past at Drayton Green lanes and below Hellesdon Mill, both free fishing, but neither are worth travelling for. As far as I can tell, there has been very few Barbel caught from the Wensum this year, I belong to the two most productive syndicates and have only managed one 5lb fish so far this season, although I haven't fished that much. Everyone I speak to is blaming the Otters. The Great Ouse has to be a better bet!

If the ouse is a better bet I'm glad that I don't fish the wensum. I gave up fishing the ouse five years ago because otters had decimated there.
