Dave swallow Centrepin reel

I have been offered one of these, at £100 its never been used and absolutely mint. Its not the swallow, its the one before it, in black.

just after any info if its any good and worth the price etc...

If it's never been used then for £100 notes I'd bite the vendors hand off. I think they are superb reels.

Buy it, try it and if you don't get on with it you'll be able to more then get your money back on it or you could sell to me for the price you paid for it ;)

I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable pin users will be able to tell you much more.
 
just a bit of trotting Tim Thats all, would it be ok for legering on small rivers for Barbel? oh and its ratchet too..

The mkI Swallow is perfect for trotting, but not ideal for legering for barbel because the reel seat isn't man enough.

A mkI in good condition with drag only for £100 would be a good buy, with ratchet only an excellent buy, with drag and ratchet would be a steal. Not many were made with both ratchet and drag...
