custom rod

thanks rob, would they be a good match for my 1.75 basias. I currently have a pair of the fox eos 7000 which are ok tbf but want something a bit more decent.

You'll probably find the 8000 too large, but maybe try the 6000 size and see how it feels, they also do a 4000 which may sit nicely. Basically the Shimano D range or Shimano OC are very similar and really nice reels...

Thanks rob i will look at the 6000 and 4000 range.

Very interesting stuff.
I am a big Chimera fan but there is a but.. I have to admit I find the lighter TC rods ( 1.25 - 1.75) a bit too through action for a lot of my fishing and default to the Specialist 3 which is 2 1/4" but is a great playing rod on everything bar modest chub. You really can get the cork creaking on this one, but always feel in control. My pal uses 1.75 chimeras on the same river and swims and lands plenty of decent Swale fish (8-9 pounders to keep it in context) and he loves them so it really can be a very personal thing
I don't own a Torrix but have one on order and reading how they perform I'm really, really interested to see how I get on with it.

I’m with you on that one. I’d want something more powerful than a chimera no2 for the Swale. More often than not it’s carrying a drop of fresh.
Not much that swims pulls as well as a swale barbel 😎
They certainly get a good work out in there.

The GTI float rods are heavy and I guess it’s just down to the fact they are long over due an update.
I’ve got a stepped up 13 footer and it’s been fabulous to be fair and caught me a lot of winter chub. but it’s now been put aside Since I got the Acolyte compact plus. Different league of rod all together In weight, crispness, slimness and the fact that it can be Taken to the bank built up is just an awesome touch. Doubt the Harrison GTI will get another look in again until I pass it on.
Have a waggle of the free spirit 15ft Hi s it’s an awesome rod

They should have ASBOs - complete hooligan fish, especially those in the 6-7 pound bracket. Talk about a bang for your buck.
Be interesting to hook one of them on a 1.25 Torrix 😲 😲 and chances are I will at some point.
