The Drennan sinklink is a 'coated' braid. It is very thin maybee one of the higher strains would suit your use? I assume you wish to strip it back?

Hi Andrew, yes I'll be stripping the hook end back but leaving the 'loop end' coated. Its for a paternoster rig that, by using coated material, the hook-length really 'stands off' from the mainline. So I do want it 'plastic coated' and not just coated as in chemical surface treatment. I'm using coated 10lb hook-length at the moment, but would prefer to use 8lb (as that's bs of my mainline) especially as my rig is 'semi-fixed'.

Korda did some but dunno if its still available, dull dark green , muddy brown or sand coloured dull finished soft to the touch line
:)

Hi Dave, yeah I've used that method myself in the past..but it wont won't work on the rig I wish to use. I've been running 'trials' of sliding v semi-fixed paternoster rigs re. bite detection, with uncoated on the sliding rigs and coated on the semi-fixed. And although, as yet, the trial hasn't been extensive, I haven't found a lot of difference. So until I find some 8lb bs coated braid I'm going to use sliding paternosters on short range waters (<30m) and semi-fixed on longer range water (>30m), where I'd be using heavier weights and 12lb bs. main line. In this situation I can use 12lb bs coated hooklinks, of which there's a selection available.
