Its that time of year again when people want too buy me stuff in expectation that i buy them stuff back!

Any good fishing books out there that i can put on my list?

Cheers

Not one recommendation after 120 or so views...................... blimey, its going too be a boring Christmas this year!

At the Waters Edge by Martin James is pretty good. Older books obviously " A Lifetimes Addiction" by Trefor West and Elite Barbel by Tony Miles are excellent.

Tom,

Have a look at Steven Harpers website, Angling Encounters is good, Phil Wakeford still has a couple of his "Pike Here and There", Nev Ficklings latest Mammoth Pike

One on my list Tom is Steve Edwards tribute book 'Its a long old road' I knew Steve and i reckon some of the stories in it will be well worth reading !!

Along similar lines is the Terry Glebioska book 'Tel tales'

Both were not strictly Carp only anglers, and both were great characters who caught lots of nice fish and enjoyed themselves along the way, like i said, worth a read.

Tom,

Books I've read in the last couple of years that I'd have no hesitation in recommending:

'Angling Essays' by Graham Marsden - a collection of the old sages finest essays. I enjoyed this book immensely. A great angling writer at his cerebral best.

'A Specimen Fishing Year' by John Wilson - the 1976 fishing diary of the young Wilson as he cut his teeth on his local Norfolk waters, mainly during short sessions fitted in around the running of his tackle shop. Worth a place in anyone's angling collection.

'Redfin Diaries' by Mark Everard - a peach of a book. An account of a top-class roach anglers most memorable roach fishing days. Very well-written.

'A Fool and His Eel' by Mark Walsingham - the angling memoirs of a very thoughtful all-round angler. A possible classic.

'A Flick of The Tail' by Dave Lane - I didn't expect to like this book quite so much, in fact I couldn't put it down. One of my favourite carp fishing books.

many thanks chaps, Christmas day will certainly be full of good reading now.
