😂😂 thought you bought 7 rods recently 😉
It was 6 actually, I sold one of the Torrix 1.75 to a mate .
They were on sale as a job lot at a really good price, I don't actually need these rods ,but just decided to buy them and
Clean them up, I could most likely sell them on eBay and make a profit, but I haven't made my mind up yet as they are all in great condition .
I have mostly been a Free Spirit fan, but when you put these side by side there's very little difference ,apart FROM THE PERDURABLE BLANK on the FS ,but about £100 difference in price. I think the FREE SPIRIT hi end rods are becoming to expensive for an off the shelf rod,and may price themselves out the Market ,especially when you can get Harrison rods off the shelf or custom built for a far lower price.

THE PERDURABLE BLANK
I think this is a little bit of a marketing strategy Adam that free spirit like to shout about and others don’t.
If you take a free spirit perdurable blank and a Harrison ground blank and attempt to scratch them both with the same item whatever that might be…… you’ll get the exact same results. I’ve got ground blanks on both and neither is any more resistant or specialist than the other. The difference is free spirit rave about it and Harrison doesn’t.

It’s the reason mat ground blanks are so easy to make alterations too compared to coated or unground. They don’t leave witness marks where the rings were removed from if taken off carefully

Not again.... serious question do you get to use any of these rods before passing them on on a knocked down price?
It really does seem you have some sort of obsession with buying expensive gear...we all do to a certain extent but this is off the scale.
Genuinely concerned, take care.
Thanks for your concern Neil, I think I do have an obsession with rods !! and I admit I do suffer from OCD.
You are also right that on some occasions I have sold on before even using ,or with very little use .
I only fish with one rod at a time ( mostly anyway) and have recently sold on the spares so I only have one of each TC .
This suits me much better as I can take 2 rods but just fish with whichever I feel is right.
I am actually trying to scale down the number of rods I have ,which is why you may see some for sale.
I know I recently purchased 6 Torrix rods of a friend who has had to give up fishing due to serious illness, and preferred a quick sale rather than take time ,to sell individual rods? I am in the process of cleaning them up and may or may not keep them. I don't smoke, I don't gamble,.so perhaps fishing rods is my addiction .😀

Ah OK. I have 1 chimera no2 which I picked up 2nd hand. I have what was sold as a no3 at 12ft but the diameter of carbon on the butt section is massive compared to the no2. Does this sound right? Or could I have a higher t/c rod than I thought I bought? Bought 2nd hand.
