Chimera 3 v Chimera flood and snag.

Hi chaps, I have the opportunity to purchase a pair of Chimera flood and snag rods, and was looking for information on action, in comparison to the C3.
Which I have been using for many years.
Just looking for a change...

Hi Jim - a good friend of mine switched from flood & snag to C3 about 10 years ago after using mine
He’s never gone back and in his words the C3 is a much better flood and snag rod as well as an excellent all-rounder -C3 is all he uses and he’s an excellent barbel angler- seen it all.
He liked the f&s but much preferred the C3 blank and 12’ suits our fishing better
Another lad picked up a pair of flood & snags earlier this season and can’t find a use for them preferring the c3 for heavy lead work and 2lb Torrix for when there is a Bit of water on
All subjective feedback of course

Thanks Paul, I'm currently using my 11ft 2lb torrix for the majority of my barbelling, I have a pair of 2.5 torrix for the tidal..
And I'm looking to bridge the gap but prefer shorter rods.
I know Harrison do an 11ft 2.25avon but again, not much info forthcoming..

Jim, there is an 11ft 2.5 Harrison avon that I'd highly recommend as a possible alternative, I'm a fan of shorter rods as well. Casts big leads when required but doesn't feel like a poker with the avon action. I've had some good fish on mine including a near 20lb Colne carp, the rod stopped it in its tracks when I put the brakes on. Mr Tunley reckons it's more like a 2.25. Well worth a look.
