Thanks Dave, she beat me up for a good 20 minutes.
After 15 of them I started to win and actually believe I stood a chance of landing it.

well we both needed a minute to regain some composure.
There was a good reason for the net shot. I mean who wouldn’t ….. it looks bloody massive across its shoulders.
And with the 8g bolo hanging there I couldn’t resist.
Poor thing it was a bit of a shuffle to get her in that.

I did manage to get back on the river in 2026 when it finally dropped again and allowed for some trotting before the season was out.

I had a great but very difficult days fishing with my good friend Gary.
I only managed 4 of any size with the biggest going 6lb on the nose.
Gary angled superbly with his feed going in through a dropper on a separate rod and put 5 nice ones in the net to 6lb 7oz
No barbel this time
