The differences between the Aventa Pro, Sheffield and Raw are nothing more than cosmetic. Buy whichever floats your boat.
Even the Bowler and Kennett were essentially the same reel but the differences with them were slightly more substantial (Magnesium alloy and integral line guard respectively). Even the Aventa and Trent are based on the same basic format. However the basic Aventa has less/lower quality bearings and the Trent has an additional drag system.

I have a black Kennet and its a lovely reel. I do, however, like line guards whereas others don't. All the Okumas are excellent.

The Aventa Pro is excellent value for money, I have one and I love it.
I also have a rather tatty Match Aerial that I picked up for around the same money and again it is superb.
There are literally hundreds to choose from, my advise, see which one is comfortable in your hand before committing to buying one.

The Sheffield is a lovely reel (picked mine up for £80!) but I've also invested in a Match Aerial which is in really good nick but has yet to be used to wet a line. Roll on June!

I'm a relative newcomer to the trotting game but using the Sheffield my mrs gave me for my birthday has completely spoilt me, I sold my speedia and nearly threw the cheap Marco Cortesi in the river last time I used it. I'll be getting an aventa for the new season
