Catch Cult 10

Martin Mumby

Senior Member
Catch Cult 10 is a week or so behind schedule but will be in the post later this week.

It’s another very mixed bag covering a multitude of species and subjects.

1. Ash Morton goes shark fishing in West Wales.
2. Daniel Woolcott takes a look at eel fishing and rig development.
3. Thames perch, Olly Luker is chasing stripes!
4. We have our first female writer and young Phoebe Stuart writes of a new carp water and all that goes with it.
5. Trotting for grayling on the Welsh Dee by Duncan Pritchard.
6. Angling Trust. Catch Cult carry out the most in-depth interview yet with Mark Lloyd!
7. Terry Theobald’s usual diary piece covering the Wye, Ashmead, Big Push 5, mullet and more.
8. Neville Fickling discusses how the extreme weather this summer affects our fish.
9. The Throop fishery, a personal view by long term angler Neil Maidment.
10. Well known angler Gary Knowles writes about how big bream tactics have changed over the years.
11. Mark Cameron updates us on beaver reintroductions from the Wye to Scotland, very interesting.
12. Our No Nonsense reviews and angling satire from our own Mr Crabmeat.

Thanks to all who supported us so far and to Andy and team at BFW for allowing us to post about Catch Cult.

Looking forward to CC10 then, Martin. CC9 was an excellent issue with a diverse range of articles and something for everyone. Keep up the good work and long may it continue.

Dave

Thankyou very much Dave! The fishing 'trade' has been through a very bad year with the hard winter and a lot of fisheries closed due to extreme weather this summer. For Catch Cult to continue we really do need the support of anglers everywhere and also the backing of advertisers. If anybody knows any prospective advertisers could they give us a shout please. Many thanks.

Hi Martin
Just a thought for consideration. Is there any chance of you producing a folder to keep all these magazines in ?

Derek, we’re all wondering whether your Postman will do the decent thing and not bend your next copy:)

Hi Darren, looked in to it, and found out it wasn't my regualar postie who was doing the damage, but his relief when he was on holiday. Managed to get a grip of him last time before he posted, had a quiet word in his shell like.:D;). Hopefully no more problems. :)

That's a big relief to us all Derek :))))
Thankyou men, your support is appreciated!
Good suggestion Ian, we will look into it, thanks.

Despite us promoting CC on facebook and Instagram and anywhere else we can think of I think there are still a lot of anglers who have never heard of CC. The margins are fine and we do need the support of advertisers and readers for us to make it viable. Any suggestions on how we could reach a bigger audience and spread the word further would be very welcome, thanks.
Also, as I have said before, we need writing talent, good articles etc. So, if anybody fancies trying their hand at penning an article please have a go, our motto is: IF IT'S GOOD WE WILL PRINT IT! Thanks.

Don't know how feasible it would be but have you thought about a stall at the 'Big One' tackle shows?
