dunno if B&Q still has em but i bought a collapsible scythe with a blade about
14" and a handle around 18" with a hole in handle for safety cord but also serves to lash it to a pole for extra length, great tool

On some of the Severn stretches I fish you'd be lost without a machete.
As for the law, I often wander the streets with mine and never had any problems, I find it helps counter balance the special brew in my other hand.

You wouldn't be seen on the mean street of Dawley without one.
