Canal Carp

I was out lamping on a couple of stretches Saturday midnight where I've taken a fancy to. Used a relatively powerful torch but it lacked the intensity. One of the stretches boat use to late evening & was still turbid, the other not as much but still could not penetrate past two thirds across. Nothing seen from a two hour haunt. Next time I'll be lamping at 2am hoping that the fine solids has mostly dropped out of suspension. Otherwise I'll have to spend some money & replace the torch... Elusive these canal brethren are...

Both stretches I'll be targeting is approx 35ft wide, mid channel average depth is 5ft & 1 ft in the margins. I'm on my third night of prebaiting. See if I'm lucky...
