Can anyone recommend me a brolly?

weights

intersting thread , im always looking to cut down on what im carrying weight wise without compromising comfort or effectivness

those that have the fibre brollys , would you mind posting what they actually weigh ?

some of the websites quote , most dont

obviously the 45'' would be lighter but not by much

ian , is this the oval with wings ?

No Stuart, it is round, has a heavy duty totally waterproof skin and fibre glass poles, I had an early grey one which turned inside out but they seem to have made the cover tighter and more curved now so it cannot turn inside out, well not easily anyway, had it over two years now and very good, couple of mates got them after seeing mine and they are very pleased too.

According to their website, the Korum Fibreglass 50" brolly is 3kg, which doesn't sound especially light to me. I'd be intererested to see how the Masterline compares to that.

The Korum Fibreshield is 3.7kg, but that's an oval type rather than an ordinary brolly.

Hello Andy,

In a split second you can colapse the brolly and chuck it on the ground. With a good army Goretex you will just get a bit damp, and any Barbel is worth getting wet for. You can't play a fish very well from under a fixed brolly so will need to come out in the weather.
Colin, when I'm into a barbel I want to be focusing on getting it under control and keeping it out of the nearest snag (with both hands) ... not worrying about getting the brolly down with one hand. An interesting idea, but not for me :)

Thanks mate, it is the camo one I'm after and I'd found that link but it says on there that they're out of stock. Might give them a bell on Monday to check..
