Camo Waterproof/Windproof Jacket?

Thank you for that link young David:)

Hi John, you haven,t said what your budget is. I bought a RAM Deerhunter jacket from a member on here. Think i paid him about £50. Absolutely fantastic jacket. Very well padded for warmth, wind/waterproof, a million pockets ( well about a dozen :D ) You only have to feel/hold it to know its a quality item.

Although not army issue,I can vouch for the waterproof/windproofing of the new ESP digital camo jacket/bib'n'brace.Spend 5 days on the Wye last week,in virtually continuous rain and remained perfectly dry.

Hi All,

Well i was just looking for something in camo for the end of summer period till i need my one piece thermal suit, i think my budget would only be up to say £50, i was not looking at the military jackets at first i was looking at the tf gear or shimano tribal types, but thinking about it a military goretex jacket with a fleece underneath used for that period would also come in handy in the summers rainy days.....Dont know still dont know what to do...:(

You can good quality gear in field and trek I bought a berghaus for £59 it's breathable but not gore tex and waterproof I refuse to buy any more fishing clothing it's expensive and inferior to all of the walking and clmbing gear out there In my opinion and I've had esp white water etc in the past

beware of fakes on eBay, it's flooded with em, esp north face stuff.
i got a north face Gotham jacket off eBay, it was cheap but I'm not all convinced it's the real deal.

Hi Ian,

Hope that all is going well with you old son? Nice coat but i wanted Camo:eek:

That one Dave has found does look OK for your budget level John, I think I paid £80 for an unissued, brand new NATO Goretex jacket 5 years back. The only problem will be that it is used, so it will almost certainly have been washed several times, and may have lost it's 'beadabillity', so that the outer shell no longer sheds water. As we have discussed, you MAY be able to get that back with 'Tech-wash' and 'Nickwax re-proofer'....or you may not. Either way, it won't let rain in...but it may no longer be breathable.

However...it does fit your budget :)

Cheers, Dave.

Yes lads Martin Gregory gave me a link to that jacket at the beginning of the thread, i have been in 2 minds has to what to do but s.d it i have just ordered....

Go for it mate :p Once you get it, it's easy to test. Just hold it over the sink or bath and trickle some water over part of it. If it beads up and just runs off, like water off a ducks back, leaving nothing behind, with the fabric completely unaffected...spot on! If the fabric darkens in areas, and some of the water soaks in...you have work to do :D

Cheers, Dave.

Yeah i did think about that, ! but watch out for dogs, one will likley pee on you :p:D:D

Bleedin ell Ian, why didn't you mention that before. I have been scratching my head for ages trying to work out why all the dogs kept doing that. There are other possibilities to consider as well though....what if a courting couple decided to take advantage of the cover

:p

Cheers, Dave.:p
