It was -17 in certain areas of the Kingdom of Powys last night!
Needless to say I'm somewhat struggling to gather enthusiasm!

-17!!!! -7 here at 9am......... must be getting old but not going anywhere in that!!

Just been out walking my dog, snow was over my wellies out in the fields that my house backs on to and took my an hour to dig the car out so I could get out of the street.

Take a look at the Llanstephan web cam, the Wye is starting to freeze over (again) that's three winters on the trot it's frozen. What happened to the mild, wet winters predicted as a consequence of Global Warming?

Left North Yorkshire (vale of Pickering) at Midday, temp -8.5 according to the car thermometer  Bit parky on the Scarborough sea wall yesterday !

You probably passed pretty close by me then. Spent most of yesterday and most of today digging, snow ploughing and gritting. At least it looks likely that we've done a good enough job that the lazy daysies will have to turn up as normal!:D

Trotted bread flake and liquadised bread accounted for four Chub yesterday afternoon/evening.
Frozen rod rings, frozen fingers, frozen toes, frozen bread.... still loved every second of it.... and got my fishing 'fix' out of the way for a few more days....

Not stepped foot out of the house today..... football (on TV) and playstation day.

You've got a bit more insulation than the rest of us Steve, :D

I'm catching up with a few odd jobs and banking the brownie points ready for the thaw.

Was visiting my old Mum Chris, she lives in out of the way Butterwick, bit of grit needed up the village mate ;) :)

Beautiful last night though, crystal clear, the sky lit up bright orange, (Pickering and Malton) either side of us and snow as far as you could see, back in the claustraphobic south now !

I stayed in today with lovely wife watching Eastenders all day...!!!

I went out yesterday minus 3 on the way to the river but it did warm up a bit, was positively Caribbean by mid day and nearly 4 degrees warmer!!

Fished all day on the stick and pin, the float dipped positively twice and I nicked 2 Chub one of 5-2 and another of 5-8.

As Steve said got my fishing bug out of the system for a few days and I loved it!!
Went home a happy angler.

My wife thinks I am not the full ticket though!

I seemed a little lost being indoors for the whole weekend didn'y know what to do with myself..

Got a text this morning to say the Ribble had frozen over, so went to the Mersey estuary instead! No point wasting a day off! Bloody cold like! Could only use the black lug and mack fillet i had taken as the squid refused to defrost! Really enjoyed the fishing - bite a chuck - but watching the storm clouds off in the distance over Ireland was the highlight.

Not a flake over on the west side of the north at the moment - due next week according to the forecast! :D

Hi men,

No fishing for us. More work done on the cottage , which has eaten into our fishing time even though we said it wouldn't !.

Then today moved James + girlfriend back in for a while untill their place is built. There goes all my bait again.
