Paddy go for the fox specialist brolly

This new Specialist Brolly features the same revolutionary STS Mechanism as Fox’s top-selling Supa Brolly range, which is designed to create a much sturdier brolly whilst giving increased head room inside. It is based on a 45ins profile with short storm sides and weighs less than 3kg! Supplied with 4 pegs the brolly also has storm caps should you wish to add storm poles in very strong winds. This innovative design is perfect for specialist anglers across the board so whether you are fishing natural still waters, commercials or rivers you are sure to find the ultimate protection from Mother Nature under the new Fox Specialist Brolly.

The Fox specialist brolly really is fantastic! I got one myself after an autumn getting tired of trying to tie pva sticks in the rain and my rucksack contents getting damp. It's light enough to carry on long walks, fits in to most quivers and with a couple of banksticks attached to the storm pole threads, will stand up to the strongest of storms that we had over the winter. Best bit of kit I've brought for a long time.

Another vote for the Fox Specialist, nice and light but sturdy, and even though it's only 45" it gives plenty of cover. Does need a reasonably wide quiver for it to fit in though.

If your tying pva.....do it earlier.
Depends on your mobility and distance travelling with kit,
Are you talking about day session or moving here and there? Depends on your comfort level really.

If you moving about then a brolly is best. I got the fox brolly if I'm staying in one swim but if roaming good water proofs or a light weight brolly is what you after

Cheers Steve. The original Fox Supa brolly (mk 1) didn't have a boss (bell cap), just a piece of material with the Fox logo on it to cover the STS mechanism. I think that this was prone to leak (although my brolly system never did). The new (mk 2) Supa brolly has 'a new improved' bell cap with an integral gasket to prevent leaks (note to self, never buy Fox mk 1 anything). I wondered if the Specialist brolly had this improvement?

Out of interest have you had a look at the Nash scope brollies?
