Bristol Avon bank destruction, and dropped level

Cutting down the trees would only speed up the flow surely? And I can’t see the farmer spending money to help out with flooding further down stream? And as if it’s as you say now 6ft lower than before, due to flow rate? There’s no reason for it that I can think of? And I thought that even the E.A. Wouldn’t allow trees to be felled during nesting season? What on earth is going on? It’s criminal in my mind, such a shame! Makes my blood boil to see such environmental vandalism, I feel for you and anyone else who fishes the river there as well as the birds etc.

Its dead simple, contact the Forestry Comission, give them the grid reference/what3words ref and ask if a felling license was issued?

If no felling license issued, they should be all over it and they can issue a legally enforceable tree restocking order.

Be under no illusion, there are plenty of rogue farmers out there who do what the hell they want, without fear of any repercussions.
