I just heard on local radio that the police are searching the river downstream of the town park for a missing man who was last seen in the river. If you are fishing that area this weekend keep your eye open for this poor chap.

If I hear any more news I'll post it.
 
Yeah, I had to divert onto the bypass bridge `cos the town bridge had a fire engine blocking it.

Hope its a false alarm and the guys found safe and well.
 
They have found him, dead unfortunately, 21 years old and gone. A warning to all of us who use the river as our playground even when it's low and placid in the middle of summer it can catch the young and unwary out, some of us would not stand a hope, especially when it's flooded and the banks are treacherous at night in winter.
 
Sad news and devastating news for his family and friends.
