Bream - Walthamstow Reservoirs

This is quite a big departure for me as I’ve always observed the closed season and used it as a break from fishing.

However, I’m not getting any younger and have many things to tick off fishing wise - one of them being a ‘big’ Bream.

Having watched a few videos and read a few articles Walthamstow looks worth a go for the Bream. Does anyone have experience of fishing there? I’d be limited to daytime sessions (probably mid-week).

It’s been a long time since I’ve fished it (almost 10 years 😳) but back then, number 1 used to be a good bet for big bream.

I used to fish it on the bend (more or less opposite where the channel between 2 & 3 is) fishing toward the island. Ball in as much bait as I could carry on the tube (gb mixed with pellets, sweetcorn, hemp, caster etc) feeder on top. Standard feeder rig or helicopter, pellet or casters on hook, wait. Worms also worked well but the eels also loved them.

Thanks Daniel. I appreciate the reply.

I’ve seen about the heavy baiting requirements so looking at a cheap spodding setup. Fishing stillwaters, at range and with such tactics is very alien to me, but like I said I want to diversify a bit and try and tick off some more species.
