Braid?

I chanced upon this stuff and used it for 2 seasons now as I've gradually changed over from Big Game / Sensor.
My own tests using a spring balance give good knot strength. It's the construction I like as it has a really low co-efficient of friction ( like Teflon) so it casts well, doesn't seem to bed in at all , very few issues with line twist and seems excellent on abrasion,
I discovered it's qualities by chance when I was on the Wye for a week and I couldn't work out how I could cast a good 20 yards further on one rod when both set-ups were identical ( apart from the line) and that 20yards made a difference. 15lb Big Game on one reel, 15lb Mimicry on the other.
After a day or so the big game would start to rough up a bit and would need cutting back, whereas the Mimic seemed unaffected.
Don't get me wrong , Big Game and Sensor are IMHO great lines but this stuff is just a bit special.
Gradually trialled it on a few more spools and no nasty surprises, so I think it's on most reels now.
The colour/ camouflage bit isn't really of interest to me , it's the actual polymer it's manufactured from, which is quite unlike any other mono I've used?
Sods law it looks like Prologic is now defunct as their website has gone and I'm down to my last spool so might need to look around

I mainly use braid for predator fishing, but would have no qualms about using it for barbel particularly at distance. The pound a mile Dyneema off ebay is OK for me. I have used some other brands, but not seen any benefits.

The critical thing is to have a long mono leader at least to four or five turns on the reel when casting. Braid will snap like cotton after a few casts using heavy leads or lures.

I see a few posters on here talking about eBay Dyneema as though it's a certain specific branded product, whereas it certainly is not. It is a type of line ... like 'nylon monofilament' or 'fluorocarbon' are 'types' of line. Dyneema is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, and many companies produce UHMWPE (just like many companies produce 'mono' and 'fluoro'). And just like with 'mono' and fluro', there are really good UHMWPE braids and some dreadful ones, and many UHMWPE's are relabelled by other companies. So if you buy some, check it ...and if it's good, stick with it until you find something you like more.

The stuff I have bought from ebay has no brand name other than Dyneema on the label. I suggest that the best way to ensure that it is good enough is to use the same seller.

There is some crap braid on ebay and also some good stuff, mainly used for hook lengths for me as I don't do a lot of predator fishing. The lack of stretch especially when holding a good sized weight when sea fishing the humber and often collecting various detritus, and getting snagged to boot , I would have maybe broken a rod or two. Why anyone would pay Kings ransom for 10m of braid hooklength beats me.
