Hi...so who amongst us has booked the 16th off work...or are planning a sickie!!!????
What are your plans for the first day ?
Not long now!!!!
:):):)

Stuart - booked the 16th, 17th and 18th off work. I honestly can't wait, particularly if we get a bit of rain between now and then.

Good luck for the season!! :)

as long as my club ticket comes in time, on a lake after a tench,
the 17th or 18th is going to be on a river.
as for work, no worrys for me.

I am retired, yet even now I may miss the start  My dearly beloved sister 'phoned up the other night to invite me over to Newbury for a few days, as it is her birthday on the 18th

I reckon she planned it to spite me...she has had 70 years to change the date :D:D:D

I will try desperately to be there at midnight 15th/16th, but it will be a life threatening endeavour :D

Wonder if I can convince her that the Kennet is a wonderful place for all the extended family to come to celebrate :p

Cheers, Dave.

Me and Jason will be out on the 16th. cant come soon enough:)

I had booked the 16th off and just this week found out I have colleagues from across the pond arriving that day, looks like I'll grab an evening session.

16th and 17th booked off.
Shall probably go to the Severals on the first day, and the 17th I will be on the lovely Rother (sussex).

Can't wait! I don't do lakes very often, and the freezer is full of trout. so have not been fluf flinging for a few weeks.

Might book the 16th off, depending on the weather.

Will almost certainly be on an estate lake catching Tench from dawn, but I will no doubt feel the pull of the river by mid afternoon and will end up somewhere local for a few hours during the evening after Barbel.

If only! I'm contemplating fishing from dawn until 0700 then going to work. However, it's more likely to be an afternoon onwards (1600 hrs) session until dark. It just depends how bad the flooding is!

I'm leaving river fishing alone till we have had plenty of rain. I caught a nice River Dane barbel one 16th June which had just spawned in low sunny conditions & she took a long time to recover. She didn't fight much either.

I'm off from 16th - 25th. Fishing every day. Never bothered booking off the opening week before, strangely enough, so looking forward to it.
