Boilies Only????

Hmmnn,

My first post on this thread, not to be mixed up with Cooky!!

Anyhow to answer two points, I also find that a boilie wrapped in paste and just a few blobs of paste loose fad will catch in quite cold water.........add some vodka when making the paste/boilie mix too..........

Regarding nets, leave it in the water at the margin, it won't freeze to the bank then..........

Take care though Ian...there is a distinct danger of a net left in the margin gradually sliding, or being inadvertantly knocked a little further into the water, or even the current picking up during the day...bye-bye net

Saw it happen...didn't laugh, honest :p

A paste wrapped boilie with a paste stringer is indeed a good way to go in the cold water conditions.........Prop the net up again'st something...

Cooky:)

David, Normally site a spare bankstick near the edge and hook the spreader lock onto it anyway so I can safely rest fish without chance of the net slipping in, I seriously do leave my net in the water if it is going to freeze, it allows me to roll it up instead of having to fold it at the end of my latest blank session too ;)
