Black Friday deals

Not normally drawn into this but managed to get a Drennen Martin Bowler Specialist barbel rod from Angling Republic today knocked down from £169.99 to £125 quite happy about that. Anyone else purchased anything or took advantage of a deal or in fact want to let others know of any deals.

After following a link from Gerry Giles about a set of scales, i ended up spending over 60 quid on various items, mostly end tackle, none of which i really needed :D but too good a bargain to miss out on. :) Lots of little packages expected next week. :)

Booked a couple of holidays yesterday for next year. Despite using 'black Friday' codes they finished up the same price as when I'd bookmarked them last week. I'm sure that there are some genuine bargains out there but I have noticed that many retailers inflate their prices just prior to having a 'sale'.

That's a good deal. Excellent rods - good for tench and bream as well. Not often you see big discounts on Drennan Rods.

Bought a Shimano purist twin tip ( 2 n 3oz quivers)barbel travel rod marked down to 100 quid. Not black Friday just local tackle shop thinning out their rods

I was telling a mate who owns a shop that the other day Chris. I believe they used the threat of revoking status as a Drennen retailer.

I have the Drennan Specialist Barbel Rod, (not the Bowler), but looks like the same blank, it was introduced about 5-7 years ago. I managed to pick up one for £70 half price from a tackle dealer close down sale. It came with a rod sleeve and a Drennan isotope.

Never used it to date, is it the same rod as your MB Clive?

set fox digi scales £59.99 angling direct with 15% off already discounted price.. shaky agility 12ft feeder rod £25 chapmans angling, shaky agility 11ft 6" power float £34.42 fishing republic, pair fox chunk trainers £37.79 fishing republic, shimano sienna 4000 front drag £19.99 and a little cracker it is too, veals bristol, korum chair extending legs and korum xpert line, angling direct with the 15% off already discounted prices..

Delkim are the same, a (ex but now quite famous) local tackle dealer had to add extras instead of discounting delkim alarms. Can't understand why they interfere after they're ex-stock and in the hands of the dealer??

Aldi have/had Thinsulate thermal trousers, and they are toasty. Thing is, when I got home to try them on, I noticed I'd bought 'womens'. Well I'm 5' 9" and 33 ish waist but, they fitted fine. Just do up the wrong way, if you know what I mean. And they're black, so no one's gonna notice. :)
Oh and the waist is partially elasticated and they are medium.

Hi men ,

I went to the Carp Society show at Sandown Park on Saturday , as far as i could see the busiest stand was the NGT stall . It was long and packed full of cheap stuff that people were taking away by the carrier bag full. My mate picked up carbon effect bank sticks , looked the part very cheap ;) . And before people say they will fall apart , iv been using some for over a year , i dont look after my stuff at all , and they only hold your rod up :D . worth a look .
