Bite Alarms.

Delkims for me too. I've had mine for the best part of 30 years and the only maintenance they've ever had is a battery change! Extremely easy to set up and use. No need for remote receiver.

Another vote for Gardner ATTs IW, I bought them after they were recommended on here.

Whatever alarms you use, make sure you get some of these:

If you search further on ebay, there are cheaper versions

On Rivers so can't offer bite alarm info but often the bigger pike on the Wye will sometimes just give a minor dip of the slider float.
To be honest you would probably not even see it at distance.
Twice now as I often lift the bait a foot or so and drop it back, felt weight and thinking snag lifted to find a pike just holding the bait!

Especially so in very cold weather.

Like my barbel fishing I am ultra intense on looking for any indications, float or tip.

Never saw a touch despite being just a foot or so overdepth.

Yeah I’ve seen that. You get a little knock and afew rings come from around the float and that’s it...... nothing else. Crafty bugger is sat there holding it.
