Gents could you give me your thoughts on the BIGGEST LIGHTEST UMBRELLA?
Lastnight sat under a brolly and the water had gone through and was dripping on my head.
We were having one of them Heavy British Summer showers....... and i thought it has been 5 years and i should get a new one.....

cheers jamie

I can only speak for myself, Jamie, but I have had quite a few light umbrellas, most of them by Waterline, they've all been rubbish!
I am now back to using my Fox Oval - it's heavy but it's not going to let me down.

Hi Jamie, i use a Diawa 60" flatback, extremely lightweight for its size. It has zips in the back panels in case you want to pole fish, which i find handy when its windy, open the panels to take some of the wind pressure off the brolly ( when its not raining ). It also has pegging points, on the parts that touch the ground. :)

same as this one.

Try and find a shop that has a Matrix Space Brolly. I don't have one (yet) but a mate got one towards the end of last season and it is impressive in its coverage and lightness. Cover seems robust. The only minus points to date are the colour (dark blue but I am getting used to it) and the diameter of the top when collapsed. Try and find one, you may be pleasantly surprised:

Jamie - I have one of the Korum lightweight 50" jobs. It's alright (and very light) carrying to the swim but, because of its function, it's usually wet on the way back to the car, so probably weighs the same as a wet normal one. Half a journey's low weight is better than none, however. :)

I use an Aldi special in the summer, £10, weighs next to nothing and good for a couple of seasons, depending on how often you get out.
I do proof mine with Thompsons waterseal from new and once or twice a year after but I've always done that with all my brolleys.
