Big river bait dropping

As per the title what are your thoughts or methods for precise efficient and easy to manage bait dropping at distance. I am currently about to trial a new method Friday and if it works I will post up the results and method next weekend.

Clive I used a spod rod and big bait dropper to get my bait out BUT I found that it killed my swim . I fished over the baited area not a touch while others both sides of me caught with little or no bait down this happen more then once . So what I did was just build a swim up with little and often I can say putting a big bed of bait down killed it for me .

I have on occasion requested a canoeist to relocate the full contents of my bait bucket to a far bank swim on the Trent, multiples of Barbel graced my landing net.

i use a massive bait dropper cast out on a beachcaster,30- 40 yards aint a problem but, these days i am more likely to use web tube but if a big helpings needed or desired then back to the beach caster:)

My opinion on this is to feed little and often, ie tunnel feeders

At the moment I use a coffee mug size mesh feeder that has no weight attatched home made used with scalded pellet. Been known to get a fair bed of pellet down when fishing the Wye ect. The new system involves plastic mesh bags loaded with pellets and tied off with pva string. The good thing is you can make up a load of bags clip them on and deposit loads of bait very quickly at the start of a session without the extra weight of a dropper.

Sounds very much like a method described to me a few years ago by chubster on the old BFW forums - a device he named 'the masterbaiter' which was basically one of those orange mesh socks you get peanuts in for feeding birds - cut the bottom off, fill it with Barbel food, tie it up with PVA and lob it out - job done. I'm a bit suprised i didn't get a bite on the gentlemans agreement comment but then they probably had a fair idea as to what was coming next! :D
