Steve, if you want to send me some, do so (I've supplied a delivery address) and if not, don't worry about failing to put your "money where your mouth is."
Regards the ethics, necessity, my presumed catch rate and where I've been fishing.
Debate away but don't expect me to give f*** all away, I'm saying nothing.

Why would you feel the need to glug a slug? :D

I should keep quiet about it if I were you Tom, that sounds far too catchy. Next thing you know there will be elderly people at every shop door shoving collection boxes up yer left nostril and screeching 'Give generously....Glug a Slug day' :p:D

Cheers, Dave.

Ha ha, better than one of the blokes selling the Big Issue in Oxford all he ever says is two free staples with every copy!

Fair enough Tony, out of interest are they still alive?

Hi Steve, I would love to try this bait on the Loddon and Kennet and give my views, When is the free offer going to be in The Angling Times brought a copy today cant find it, also phoned the SBS shop 9 times on Friday from midday and they dont anwser the phone. Hope you can help me Steve.

Regards Ray Thorpe

A post i made which was a critical question asking if the original poster was making a serious statement was also 'pulled' i assume because there was no point in having a rhetorical question to a post that no longer existed.

Steve shared an honest appraisal of a product he used with us, and it puzzeled me as to how anyone could have seen it as anything else, as the original post which was removed by Andy implied it should be in a section where goods are for sale, which promted my post which was in the vein of 'are you serious mate'.
I think the poster fully understood that though and was just trying to 'stir' it
which is why i answered as i did.

I hope anyone who may have seen my post which was online for all of about 45mins did not misconstrue it as a critical comment either with regards to BFW or to Steves excellent review.

All the best
Ian.

I think the offer was last week Ray.

I should try the shop again on Monday, I'm sure they will answer eventually, alternatively try an Email.

Because if we can't publish an honest product review on our own website without getting criticised by our own members for doing it, BFW isn't the place I want it to be.

If you have any issues with any of the many reviews posted here:

https://barbel.co.uk/reviewsfr.htm

please let me know, won't you?

Andy F

The point i was raising, was that it may be helpful and transparent to declare any financial involvement with a company if you are reviewing one of their products.I obviously hit a nerve as you started deleting posts, how lame.

Michael, you seem to be forgetting that you are a guest of bfw and Andy Frances here - criticising moderation is a sure fire way to shorten your posting lifetime.

I dont see any authors of angling monthly reviews stating any financial involvement with those companies, I dont see any disclaimer from bbc about apple product placement in spooks either.

I would hope the reader of a review should be able to make a judgement as to how they take its conclusions - and as to the integrity of the author of the reviews.

Andy

I have no financial involvement with SBS baits, or any other bait or tackle company, and I take it as a bit of a personal insult for anyone to suggest I would not declare this at the time of writing a review.

I don't know about you Mike, but I like to think I have some integrity........

Steve

Hi men,

Here here Steve , well said .

And obviously you would not want to jeopardise your major sponsorship with .... Pukka Pies :D .

all this after a review I just hope it dont put people off reviewing on here. Mark thats why i call him chubby cheeks.

Much ado about nothing then, Michael?

Thanks for the review, Steve. A mate's been using SBS pellets recently and he's caught a few. :)

According to the more experienced anglers on here, you would 'catch a few' whatever bait you used, the consensus of opinion being that barbel will eat almost anything, the secret being to locate the little varmints in the first place :D

And that is the first and last thing I will say on this thread :p

Cheers, Dave.
