What an interesting thread.

Have you reached any conclusions of how you will handle/retain that monster yet Richard.???

Or might it depend on the situation you find yourself in at the time regarding, others available nearby, condition of water in front of you, type of bankside you are on, time of day or night. etc etc.

Graham,

First of all I have to catch the thing, which I'm still working on. I will then do as you advise and use my common sense taking in all the factors you so rightly mention above. One thing is for sure the fish will go back in as good a condition as I caught it (except for a tiny hole in its mouth). There will be no keep nets or sacks involved and if it comes to a toss up between fish care and a photo.............well what do you think I will do?

Thats weird, I don't recall anyone by that name submitting even a single post. Still there were loads of posts so maybe he slipped in a few.

I'm sorry Richard, but if you have a problem with my moderating, feel free to take it up with Andy Francis, the site owner and admin (andyf@barbel.co.uk), or maybe even drop me a PM for my reasons, as a number of other posters have done.

As for 'throwing my toys out the pram'... not at all... all toys still intact....
Thought you might know me better than that.....

I have a great deal of time for you Richard, and enjoy our chats we've had in the past, and the times we've fished together.
But don't think for one second that because I know you, or anyone else, I'll let a thread with thinly veiled threats and abuse towards one another continue.

Oh and can I direct you to the site rules at the top of the page...
