What an interesting thread.
Have you reached any conclusions of how you will handle/retain that monster yet Richard.???
Or might it depend on the situation you find yourself in at the time regarding, others available nearby, condition of water in front of you, type of bankside you are on, time of day or night. etc etc.
Graham,
First of all I have to catch the thing, which I'm still working on. I will then do as you advise and use my common sense taking in all the factors you so rightly mention above. One thing is for sure the fish will go back in as good a condition as I caught it (except for a tiny hole in its mouth). There will be no keep nets or sacks involved and if it comes to a toss up between fish care and a photo.............well what do you think I will do?
