Belachan powder

BELACHAN POWDER
I sourced a fair amount of this and have some for sale.
Sealed with a use by date of 2014
Below is what ccmores have to say about it, 50g from them is over a fiver excluding postage.

100g £7.50 including postage

As such an incredible fish attractor, it was always our intention to source this powdered version which is more user friendly for inclusion in base mixes, stick mixes, ground baits and other bait applications. With a significantly higher dry matter content than the block, it also has a stronger aroma and taste and can therefore be used at a lower inclusion rate in order to provide the same level of attraction.
Where 7.5% - 10% is often recommended as an inclusion level for the grated block, the powder delivers a powerful attraction profile to any bait at an inclusion of 5% (50g/kg).

Hi Tom,

Package arrived in good time, great service mate, thanks for that. Mind you, I am surprised the postman is not mugged by all the local dogs...you can smell the stuff through all that packaging...love it :D

I haven't caught anything on it yet...but I am sure I will once I make some paste up and actually go fishing :p

Cheers, Dave.

Glad you got it ok, thought the extra packaging would be a good idea!

Belachan

My local Far Eastern stockist has Belachan at £1.90 per 250g block. If Tom runs out of supplies, then I wouldn't mind helping out. Bear in mind that the postage for the block is not trivial. Additionally, it is not powdered as Tom's stuff and would need grating.

Jim, ive tried the block, (grated), and its nowhere near as potent as the powdered stuff Tom is selling, hence the difference in price. But appreciate your kind offer. Thank you. :)

I was under that impression that the powdered stuff was much more potent than the block. However the block is better than nothing. If and when Tom runs out, at least the block is an option.

Jim, the block tends to be more availible than the powder. I delt with a company which imports the largest amounts of both products into the UK , I also have alot of the block version but the price is pretty standard and postage is an issue due to the blocks bulk. Saying that I do have a fair amount and due to a lack of space, will in due course have some to offer. :)

Hi Tom, The block stuff that I have is made or imported by Jeeny's. I've never seen the powdered version. I'll enquire if my local Chinese supermarket can source it. As soon as a product has a fishing label attached, you can be assured that a massive price hike will be involved. I've seen a tin of luncheon meat with a well known fishing brand label, cost about £4. You don't need Romanians to empty anglers' pockets.
