Battrery powered socks

Has anyone any info or recommendations for these as coming into cold feet time of the year, and do they offer an alternative to having the normal thermal boots and wellies. Cheers

Similar thread on another forum - several advocating the 'Hot Hands Foot Warmer' brand pad inserts so I'm going to try these first and see if they make a difference. Have been looking at the heated insoles but they look like the battery packs have to be worn around the ankles so not really suitable for wellies - going to put a pair of socks (with the highest battery rating - 4000mah) on the xmas list as the batteries seem to fit in a pocket at the top of your calf

I've used some battery insoles. The battery was in the heel, which made your footwear a little snug. Take out your insoles and replace with the battery insole and they're slightly better. USB charging via a port in the heel. Three settings, and I found the lowest setting better for all (most) day warmth. Sadly one of them packed up, but having 19st pressing down on them all day, probably wasn't what they were really designed to to cater for. Overall they were good while they worked, but a bit bulky in my boots.

Is there an electric shock risk if the boot gets wet? I remember reading about someone being electrocuted in the bath whilst charging their phone.

I was wondering what I could do to warm up my feet whilst sitting in my seat on over-nighters last autumn. My feet were getting damp and cooling down making it uncomfortable. I saw a pair of battery warmed socks in an Austrian resort the other day that would fit the bill . Intersport price Euro 240:oops:. They looked quality though. I gave it a miss.

Have you tried resting your feet on your unhooking mat Ady? I find it helps keep the cold off, ideally doubled over. A pair of boots which allow a good toe wriggle also help I find.
