Barbel and Barbel Help And Hello

Sean Smith

Senior Member
Hi All

Well i have just this year moved down to the midlands to solihull and have started Freshwater fishing again

I have the stratford card and the BAA but one of my missions for the comming season is the barbel

So i decided to hopefully join here and pick your brains for where to go and how to set up and what will work

I have feeder rods float rods and am willing to listen and learn

So if you thing you could offer some advice then it will be much appreciated

At the moment i am concentrating on chub from the warrickshire stour around whimpstone

But a few pointers in the right direction for next year would be lovely

Hi Sean

With both of those cards you get miles of quality water on the middle Avon on your doorstep. Give one or two of them a try for your chub fishing instead of the Stour, at least then you will familiarise yourself with them for when conditions are more favourable for barbel..which will be next June at this rate :(

Cheers
Mark

Hi Sean,

Welcome to the forum.

You should have no problems catching barbel with a BAA card!
Steve's advice is spot on. Have a troll back through the archives, loads of information and tips on there.

Good luck,

Jeff
