ESP for me have been spot on, if you want to use your own then you could use a butt bungee like the Sonik version, they're great, especially for some of the savage takes on say the Trent

Esp ones look good, what size take a cork handle, large ?

I use medium but they have chipped the cork a bit so maybe try large.

I used to just fish using the Solar P1, then added the Jag Rod Lock and then Wolf Multi Angle Lock.

Belt n braces eh? Just a quick question though. If the pin is set on the check, why the need to go to such extreme to lock it down. Surely a simple butt grip would be enough

Fishing clear waters I tend to sit back a little from the rod so it takes a few seconds to get to it.

John Robert’s butt grips or Gardiner tackle dual butt grips. Be careful if Googling butt grips , not recommended on work computers.
