Back pack

Sam,
Was looking at those from fishtec, but the cheap price and saying it is made from a light weight material i was wondering if it was strong enough for throwing about on the river bank.

can't fault mine mate, spot on for the money. only cost £13.50 because i have the discount card and they were £15 quid before... i don't think you would be disapointed at all

i have the 35 litre one, and i thought it was the same sort of size as other peoples suggestions so far...the one in the picture must be the 90 litre because my 35 doesnt have 2 pockset on either side, only 1

Sam...I was thinking of going lighter with all my gear as well, so interested in this thread. You say it was cheaper a month back, and you say yours is a 35L bag. In the add, they talk about either 30-45L or 90-110L (although they call them 30 or 90L in another part of the add )

Is your claimed size of 35L a mistake...or have they in fact changed, hence the dearear price?

Have you any idea what they mean by the double sizes, i.e 30-45L ? Do they have detachable pockets or something, to explain this oddity, or are they just talking cr*p :D

Cheers, Dave.

i have the 30 litre then my mistake !! by double size they mean it extends to 45. At the top of the main part of the bag there is like a draw string and a waterproof extension if you like. I fold mine inwards so its just the 30 litre size but its nice to know if i ever need to carry more it does extend. Thats a rubbish explanation i know, i'd photograph mine but its back home and im in pompey at the moment !!
in short for £20 they are a bargain. if you buy online from fishtec type in FSCR912 as a discount code and if you spend £30 it will knock a £5er off...

hope that helps a bit, sorry if it doesnt

ruckbag

I've recently bought one, and have used it with my Fox Adjusta chair which is fairly light. Doesn't need a degree to attach it, but I do have to unclip the bottom of the straps to feed through the deck-chair style legs. When roaming, I don't bother with the chair-clips, the staps hold it in place.

But I do agree about the straps sliding off, I have had trouble with the bag coming off when clambering down steep muddy banks - very entertaining for any witnesses! A chest strap would make all the difference.

Part of the reason for buying this was because it's flat shape sits nicely on the steep sloping pegs on the middle Severn. My normal bag could too easily roll down the bank and I've nearly lost it a couple of times (including phone and camera).

If you think the lightweight chair is heavy, the standard Korum chair is 14lb! Actually 9lb isn't too bad. The Fox Stalker is 12lb. The Chub lo-lite ("super lightweight") is 8lbs. IIRC, my Adjusta chair is 7lb.

When u r as old as me Andy weight means a lot. I can remember 40 yrs ago carrying an Efgeeco square tackle box made out of steel and canvas which was then the top of the range and heavy but there wern't many choices in those days. But when u r young u r supposedly stronger:)
