Ring the office, or check the email confirmation they should have sent you (you can't fish without it). Anyone supplying you with the gate code is liable to have their own membership cancelled.

Ok that’s fine will do that, it’s not on email so I’ll phone

I take it you have bought the 2023 ticket? If so there is I believe without checking a offer on early membership, Terry can confirm.
However I have said before that it would be a good idea imo to offer 12 months membership from the day you renew. That would aleviate problems like this and surely encourage more membership take up? I give you the rod licence....
The sec did not agree because as he saw it the gate codes are renewed once a year, in the New Year, BAA classic reasoning and ignoring we live in a computerised world where a 4 number code can be sent to any new member. Given a large number of padlocks are stolen anyway it really is something that should be addressed.

Im sure every club ive been in has a specific renewal or joining date🤔

That only proves that angling clubs are not the most innovative, without stating the bleeding obvious. As said it would make sense imo to give a full 12 months membership inline with the rod licence.
I think there is more to it than that Neil. Most clubs (not just angling clubs) have a annual renewal date, its easier to administer but also its needed to monitor and control membership numbers and annual budgets etc. If a club is full they need to know how many people are renewing before they can let in new members, if you had people rejoining ad hoc all through the year it would be much more difficult to manage.

I take your point Cliff, but there are no restriction on membership numbers with BAA. If that is the only reason not to do it then it could be viable to offer 12 months on renewals. Its 2022 but 1959 in a BAA world.
