Put the needle through the white parts I found the needle went through okay.
 
Or do what we used to do years ago. A length of black cycle valve rubber cut to hemp size pieces and paint a white stripe on it. Used to work a treat on the Thames when you'd really got the fish going mad with the loose feed. Take care Jim.:)
