Anguilla book by NAC

Lucky to have just received my copy of the new book on Eels ‘Anguilla’ by the National Anguilla Club. What a book! The size of it warrants a mention to start with as its as thick as a phone book (600+ pages!) First impression, it must be one of the most comprehensive single species books ever written and can’t wait to get stuck in. I don’t do much (if any) Eel fishing these days as i don’t nightfish but they have always intrigued me. I was going to post this in ‘other species’ under Eels but i couldn’t find any posts which surprised me! Anyway to those interested (if any!) i would fully recommend you try and pick up a copy whilst they might be available as it will be an obvious classic!

Fantastic book and a fantastic club ... I had the pleasure of being on it for a few years and it was an experience I'll never forget .

Eel angling is truly the last mystery of freshwater fishing in my opinion ...

Enjoy the book 🎣😎

Looks like a brilliant book Nigel, I've tried to get a copy but unfortunately they are now sold out.
As you say they are indeed an intriguing fish and I've never spent anytime searching them out which I do now regret.

I find them fascinating and if i had a spare lifetime, i’d love to specialise in them but too much to do and my nightfishing days are over (pretty much!). I had a couple of seasons after them back in the day but only managed a few up to 6lb but glad i did

Just noticed this , we recently had some work done at home and the chap who did it is a member of the National Anguilla club , we were talking and he said he had recently completed his 17 th consecutive blank night fishing expedition targetting this enigmatic species.
That is commitment . I would have moved on after far less.

Mind you he has had some exceptional eel catches so his staying the course pays off .
