Yup, lots of discussion on some rod building forums and seem to be the current 'darling' of the rod blanks.............until the nextb one comes along.

Yes, but they are 2.25 I believe

For me it'll always be Torrix and Freespirit blanks if I wanted the custom route. But Mark did say these new blanks are the business, but then he has to promote them of course.

Are the Chinese manufactured blanks or Japanese?

I have just received a pair of custom built Torrix 2.25 ,so not sure I really need the Artrex .
I also have the FS BIG WATER !
Perhaps a pair of 2lb Torrix would be a better choice ????

Out of curiosity, what's your current rod count?
I got to 40odd at the weekend and got distracted but I reckon I must be at 60+.
But I'm a hoarder and have all my old rods - never sold one.
