not wanting to start one of 'those threads'
but has anyone had a look at these?
Tri-Cast Fishing Accessories
i picked one up off a mate for £30 as he won it and had no use for it, would still have been very happy to pay £50 rrp.
designed for hauling in 200lb of dumb puddle pigs so im sure it will be plenty strong enough, it feels it at home anyway. nice and stiff and not overly heavy at all. should be plenty long enough for the tidal trent at 12ft 6in and as its take apart can also be used at 8ft 3in.
there is also a nice solid brass thread in the end of the main top section so you do not have to use the short piece on the end which is designed for you to stick the puddle pig in the keep net still in the landing net without swinging the handle about. i found when i match fished that these short sections could sometimes work loose if your not carefull.
i can wait to get out and try it, and with the length options and weight i think it will be replacing my current allround handle rather than been kept for the barbel fishing
