Advice on good pair of roving boots

i just read that modern karrimor are now crud, god, what happened.

Bought by the ever so lovely Mike Ashley of Sportsdirect.com. A brand buyer and wrecker. Buys a name, chucks it on pretty much anything to sell it then drops it when no one trusts the name any more. I understand that he didn't get the rucksacks though so they are still decent. Some of the footwear is still damned good for the money though.

Meindl and Lowa are popular with the British military, particularly as they are issuing them these days. However, when many of us were buying our own boots, when the issue stuff was rubbish, it was Alt-Bergs that many bought as they were better value and British.

The fact that they are made in Richmond, just a few miles from Catterick helps quite a bit;). Only a few miles from home for me. I have three pairs of their boots for different circumstances. They've been all over the world and never let me down. The oldest pair are approaching fifteen years old and have been hammered. They are still going strong after a factory refurb, the advantage of living close to the factory.;)

once again I must draw your attention to what all well dressed anglers should be kitted out with.

I'm with Jason with regard to the Brasher Supalites - very comfortable and great ankle support.

Walk for miles no problem.
