Hello all, apologies for the short notice but........
In association with Barnsley and District Angling Association, the Horsefield Knights Society and a fair few lads from Bradford No.1, the Association of Barbel Fishers would like to extend an invitation to all to join in our charity fish-in on the famous Fiskerton fishery on the river Trent this coming weekend. The event is in aid of the Barnsley Hospice, a charity chosen by B & D.A.A. and one dear to me personally as it is where my late father spent his last days.
The fishery is available from first light on Friday 9th September until Midnight on Sunday 11th September. We have pegs from 20-85 booked and there are 35 people confirmed as attending so far.
A few weeks ago we extended the event and as it has been so well subscribed and have decided to go the whole hog and take the numbers up to a maximum of 50.
Any beginners should not feel discouraged as plenty of help will be on hand especially during daylight hours.
Other attractions include an authentic curry (Bradford connection) and a prize raffle on Saturday afternoon which is the main day. The event is intended to be a social one, however the fishery is excellent and lots of fish will be caught. Those who like fishing a stick float will find it particularly rewarding as there are some cracking roach, chub and Perch around at the moment.
Costs are £3 for a daylight ticket and £6 for a night ticket, all proceeds to charity.
Thanks to Andy for allowing us to post this and please help us to support this worthwhile cause.
Regards
Conrad
