I won’t buy them unless it’s something really special but no one is gonna know unless you share the details

There you go Richard photos added 👍 I already have some local interest , but still available at the moment.
They have also been cork sealed ( I cork seal all my rods )

Yes I did ! But then I had a pair of FS Hi S built , so don't think I will use these .
I bought the rod from Julian built by Mark Tunley ,was very impressed with the build Quality ,so ordered another one from him.The Torrix ones are fairly cheap at £275 each so not bad price . EBAY if no one on here interested .
Or I will just keep them .

Personally I’d have the torrix over the FS but that’s just me.

What's the finish on the tip section called ?? Is it "Ultra Matt" ??
They are definitely ground uncoated blanks. Same as free spirit style. Ultra Mat is another way of describing it yeah.
On a Torrix the tip section is faster and more forgiving with a stiffer butt section and that’s probably achieved with the two different styles of carbon wrap between the two sections.
You’ll only get the chequered finish on the butt section and the first 4 inch on the tip section on a Torrix.

I prefer the butt section finish if I'm honest. Is it the same on the Torrix Carp rods Rich ??

A Satin finish rather than Matt would be my choice if looking for a custom build.

I think (could be wrong) that the 2.25 and 2.5 and 2.75 torrix blanks are carp blanks rung up to make brilliant heavy barbel rods.
I’ve only known of 4 different finishes on any Harrison blanks. Painted, clear coated or uncoated ground and uncoated unground.
Free spirit only do uncoated ground now on their better rods (excl tamers which are unground)

I had some Torrix 2.75 carp rods and very good they were too at that job. But I think they were a bit stiff for barbel work.

Ive just bought some (old) 2.5 test Chimera carp rods and apart from the long range (!) ringing they would make decent big water barbel rods. They are so far out of fashion they were ridiculously cheap….

They are a great barbel rod, especially if you like to feel the cork creaking, Armalite Mk 2s are similar. Probably a bit too through action by modern standards but a lot of fun to use. Mine are now used almost exclusively for river pike float fishing, only because the Chimera 3's are better for lobbing big feeders IMHO
