A Christmas Puzzle

For me a Kelly kettle is the kind of thing that sounds brilliant but would probably end up being a pain in the (my) ‘Arris.

I bought one 25 years ago. Used it once on a trip to Ireland. It's up in the loft somewhere... must put up for sale, if somebody wants one. A complete pain in the ar5e, but if it gave rise to the invention of the Thermos flask, then at least some good came of it.

I got my Christmas present a few weeks ago - Drennan acolyte specimen float rod 15ft brand new and unused exactly £100😄
Going to get the wife to wrap it up and put it under the tree and pretend I didn't know!

Bargain - where did you / your wife source that?

eBay
Buyer collect - I think that's what would put a lot of people off, but not me!
Iam from reading and on one occasion I drove to Essex to collect a free spirit rod for £50!
In the past I've brought new Harrison rods, (two sets) but most of my rods and reels now are second hand.
There's plenty of bargains out there if you're prepared to look / wait for right thing at the right price.

In the rush to spend on stuff we don't really need, and probably already have spare a thought for so many who don't have much at this time of year... for those that have everything try sticking a few items in their local food banks.
There is so much real poverty in this country and the sheer madness and self indulgence is for me a million miles away from Goodwill
I love seeing the excitement kids have at Christmas but my 'kids' are now all grown up, but we will all get together and no doubt act like kids.
For me amongst all the same old films at this time, one film that stands out is Nativity, a low budget piece. but for me and many others captures the essence of Christmas, and very funny.
Happy Christmas and lets hope that finally that the gift we all want is cleaner rivers.

Cleaner rivers....now THAT would be a great gift wouldn't it? An admission by the Water Co's and polluting mega-farm owners that they have messed up big time would also be a lovely gift.
Christmas is a time for dreaming I guess???
